How Things Change

Sometimes from day to day.

I had started the website and have been unable to continue work on it towards its completion, and now sales have dropped considerably at Etsy due to their new search engine format. They have made the wise decision to make a stronger focus on handmade good, which I whole-heartedly appreciate. The only problem is that many of those who sell supplies (and vintage goods) are now at the back and have had a great decrease in sales. I have lowered prices and may be going on sabbatical for an undetermined amount of time.

As some of you may know, I am also struggling with a permanent brain injury which has increasingly created more and more of a challenge to keep up with orders. However, not all is bad (didn't the old monk say that "There is no such thing as good news or bad news"?) since I have many many things I want to work on (dolls, bears, blogging) and who knows. I may be able to accomplish some of them.

My friend Cecilia from Craftsbury had encouraged me to start working on toys, just prior to her purchasing Babyfairies from me, and I have to say that I really enjoyed putting my creativity into this type of work. It seemed to offer far more in that way, since I didn't have to educate myself so much in pattern making, or be constricted to specific guidelines as sizing and shape. Besides, I can use some of that inspiration I have felt from all those fabulous doll and toy makers out there.

Here is one of my current faves... The naked Robot by Mimi Kirchner. (Just the name is super-fabulous).
